Where do we go from here? These are our personal and professional plans for Web 2.0:
"I am truly enjoying this Web 2.0 journey. My hope is that I will continue to navigate the Web 2.0 world with interest and enthusiasm. Personally, I would like to raise my two children to be informed, proficient, and responsible users of Web 2.0 tools who share and create. Already, at their young age, we collaborate with fun story-telling tools that spark their imagination. One tool that I've used frequently in the past is Shuttercal. When my son was born, I chose to take a photo of him everyday. This project lasted for two years. I was able to also take a photo of my daughter for her first year. You can see my 365 project here. I also would like to carry on with exploration in these tools, so that I can share their uses with family, friends and colleagues. Many tools are time savers, interest gainers, and overall make sometimes tedious work more enjoyable and captivating.
Professionally, I would like to continue to build my PLN via Twitter, Linkedin, About.me, Pinterest, and through Adobe Education Exchange. I would like to increasingly engage in conversations about Education, teaching, creativity, and the arts. I expect that I'll continue to build my online portfolio of personal work and student exemplars as well as a place to share engaging lessons and projects through my young blog. I look forward to my continued engagement with my students and colleagues in the participatory culture of Web 2.0 and beyond!" - Amanda

"My future plans for working with Web 2.0 tools in both my classroom and the library are to continue to explore and work with my students with their blogs. I am hoping that by working with my grade 7 students it will help show parents and teachers that blogging is a good tool to practice communication skills and a place for students to reflect on their learning. I am hoping that my school board will begin to see that students sharing their work and thoughts with others outside of the classroom is an important part of being literate in 21st C skills and that becoming a member of a participatory culture is an important aspect to students learning .
I have also applied within my school to get four laptops to keep in my classroom to create a blogging station so my students can blog throughout the day. As well as blogging, I am hoping to start and use more Web 2.0 tools within my lessons and for assignments and projects. There is a huge world of tools out there and I hope to build my repertoire of skills that I can pass on to my colleagues and students." -Julie

"In my personal life, I hope to become an even more active member of the Web 2.0 world. I think often of creating a personal blog, where I could document my daughter’s thoughts, silliness and all of those other things that you think (as a mother) you will never forget...only to discover a week later, you can’t quite remember how she worded the joke, etc. I would also love to eventually contribute book reviews, articles or photography to different online journals.
In my professional life, I would love to really bring the Web 2.0 world into my library. I think it would be so exciting to have students create book talks, reviews and other documents that get shared in real-time in the real world. I would also like to become an active contributor to my PLN and to blog about my library experiences on a regular basis. I’m excited to see where my journey will take me next!" -Lisa

"My future plans for incorporating the world of Web 2.0 include building a professional website. My goal for this site is to contain professional links to social media, as well as, a blog that I will use on a weekly basis to highlight my Do It Yourself professional development. I will use my site as a model for teachers that wish to become more connected through the networked learning environment.
My professional learning network will contain many of my class members from EDEL 544. Through discussions on Moodle and group meetings on Adobe Connect, I have learned so much. I hope to keep this collegial network ongoing as I continue on with my personal development towards becoming a connected educator. I have also fallen in love with podcasting. I love the “old school” radio feel to it but recognize its power in connecting with others through storytelling. I will continue to use my Soundcloud account and create new episodes that highlight my Web 2.0 experiences. I am excited to return back to teaching in 2014 and to share my newly acquired skills with students and staff. My hope is that students will become engaged in the participatory culture and that I can facilitate their development towards civil engagement and active learning." - Regan
