What is Pathfinders?A pathfinder is a collection of print and digital resources for students and teachers to use. A teacher or teacher librarian creates a list of reliable and accurate resources as a starting point.
For students to start their research, a pathfinder and the pathfinder creator acts as a filter to help alleviate information overload for the researcher. “A subject bibliography designed to lead the user through the process of researching a specific topic, or any topic in a given field or discipline, usually in a systematic, step-by-step way, making use of the best finding tools the library has to offer.” (Reitz, 2013). As well as a research navigation tool, pathfinders can also be used by teacher librarians to collect resources for teachers for specific curricular outcomes. Creating a digital pathfinder allows for easy access for years to come and are easily updated by the creator. Additional Information: |
